affodil says:
u can continue your conversation with me if u want
daffodil says:
just take it like writing an essay
daffodil says:
i will read
minliiiiiiii says:
ok
daffodil says:
if necessary, i will answer
minliiiiiiii says:
no prob
minliiiiiiii says:
i have a story to tell
daffodil says:
sure
minliiiiiiii says:
once upon a time,
minliiiiiiii says:
there was an enchanted foresr
minliiiiiiii says:
forest
minliiiiiiii says:
there were little pixies
minliiiiiiii says:
and giants living in the forest
minliiiiiiii says:
they were happy
minliiiiiiii says:
and it was a small forest, so the pixies knew the giants
minliiiiiiii says:
and the giants knew the pixies and they were happy
minliiiiiiii says:
even thhough the writer is tempted to end the story here
minliiiiiiii says:
and say that they left happily ever after,
minliiiiiiii says:
the writer cannot for, the pixies and giants DID NOT live happily ever after
minliiiiiiii says:
now, the pixies ate a special fruit, high up on the branches of a fujikwee tree
minliiiiiiii says:
and the special fruit, was call the fujikwee-chee
minliiiiiiii says:
called i mean, the fujikwee-chee
minliiiiiiii says:
so the pixies lived on fujikwee-chees and they couldn't eat anything else
minliiiiiiii says:
for the enchanted forest was enchanted, and they were, after all pixies and had to eat only special food.
minliiiiiiii says:
the giants on the other hand, ate everything and anything in the enchanted foresy. if it moved, they ate it, but there was one thing they couldn't eat, for it mader them sick
minliiiiiiii says:
they could not eat pixies!
daffodil says:
so?
minliiiiiiii says:
i haven't finish the story yet larh
minliiiiiiii says:
so anyway, the giants and the pixies were happy because theyhad an agreement between.
minliiiiiiii says:
the pixie queen and the giant emperor had made a pact.
minliiiiiiii says:
the pixies would not poison the giants deliberately but adding themselves to the giants' food, and the giants would pick the fujikwee-chees off the fujikwee trees for the little pixies. for the fujikwee trees were all and skinny, kind of like PALM trees, and the pixies were very small, and of course, rather horizontally lacking, kind of like DAISIES
minliiiiiiii says:
this pact was never violated, as most giants found the pixies adorable and would never dream of starving their fellow enchanted forest inhabitants, and the pixies respected their tall mates, and would never dream of poisoning their helpful neighbours
minliiiiiiii says:
besides, pixies were kind creatures, and a giant dying of pixie-poisoning was a very ugly way to go. they would writhe about for hours in mindless agony, and depending on the individual's pain threshold, die of pain eventually. there was one antidote to pixie poisoning though, but the giants never found out, nor did any pixies tell; inspite of their
minliiiiiiii says:
commaradrie
minliiiiiiii says:
(i'm not sure how to spell)
minliiiiiiii says:
they always thought, better be safe than sorry, keep that secret tothemselves, the giants were, after all rather huge, and they were, after all, rather small
minliiiiiiii says:
ey are you reading?
daffodil says:
yes
minliiiiiiii says:
ok good
minliiiiiiii says:
so anyway they lived happily every after
minliiiiiiii says:
for a few centuries or so, that is, until the arrival, or should we say the birth of one very special pixie and one very special giant.
minliiiiiiii says:
kreopee the pixie was born to ordinay pixie parents. kreopee's father was an fujikwee-chee factor plant supervisor, and kreopee's mother was a pixie homemaker, and sold fujikwee-chee panpan ( akind of cookie) for a living
minliiiiiiii says:
kreopee was special from the day he was born. he called himself KP the giant, and his ambition was to be a giant.
minliiiiiiii says:
he was very greedy, eats everything and anything in sight, but also very skinny, and would remain small for the rest of his life.
minliiiiiiii says:
now, i know i said
minliiiiiiii says:
i mean,
minliiiiiiii says:
the writer knows she said pixies were generally very friendly creatures,
minliiiiiiii says:
but we all know how cruel our young can be to other young (just visit any preschool and you'd see)
minliiiiiiii says:
so how could the other growing pixies condone kreopoo
minliiiiiiii says:
i mean kreopee, a rather awkward and weird pixie?
minliiiiiiii says:
who called himself KP the Giant by the way?
minliiiiiiii says:
so kreopee spend most of his early life eating everything he could find and storming (his small frame a comical sight ) among his plastic toys (yes the enchanted forest had plastics!) pretending KP the Giant was eating everything he could find
daffodil says:
and?
minliiiiiiii says:
well, on the other hand, t the other side of the enchanted forest
daffodil says:
how come your story half-way only?
minliiiiiiii says:
lived Litteenee giant born to normal giant parents, giant in every sense of the word. the giant father
daffodil says:
THAT'S ALL?
minliiiiiiii says:
not done
minliiiiiiii says:
the giant father, was a giant eater. in polite terms, one would say he was in the food and beverage industry
minliiiiiiii says:
he did not own plantations, nor did he work in any giant restaurant, for anywhere in the enchanted forest was a place to eat
minliiiiiiii says:
he was basically, a food taster, a food discoverer, leading the rest of the giants in what is delicious, what is not
minliiiiiiii says:
litteenee's mother, was a plain giant homemaker, selling giant foodstuffs, and their home, was like Giant Supermarket
minliiiiiiii says:
litteenee, like kreopee
minliiiiiiii says:
was an only child.
minliiiiiiii says:
he was a large giant, one of the largest to roam the enchanted forest, and his parents were proud oftheir giant giant
minliiiiiiii says:
a giant amongst giants
minliiiiiiii says:
but though he was large, he was humongous,
minliiiiiiii says:
he was overwhelming,
minliiiiiiii says:
he was a tiny eater.
minliiiiiiii says:
litteenee hated giant food, he always thought eating so much food beneath him
minliiiiiiii says:
he hated his huge frame and he wished himself tiny.
minliiiiiiii says:
in short, litteenee had a weight and self esteem problem. to put it even simpler,
minliiiiiiii says:
he was anorexic
minliiiiiiii says:
yes
minliiiiiiii says:
he was an enorexic giant

the cool night breezes rnn fingers through her hair, settling and resettling it across her shoulders, playful and gentle. she turns her face to the breeze, and closes her eyes momentarily, enjoying the cool air on her face. it was full of people waiting for their buses, young teenagers spilled all over, waiting for the last bus, like her. there were others like her too, heading home after a late dinner on a friday night, their faces brimming with anticipation of the weekend.
but what does she know? what does she know about their lives and thoughts, and faces? she called herself a 'face-reader'. she thought herself capable of reading faces like open books. it was as if with a single expression, or a single look, she could pin them down, a specimen, preserved and immobile, to be filed away in open wooden boxes with glass sides used for storing insect specimens to be studied and analysed in great detail. her wooden box with the glass side however, came in the form of a little black book. page after page of face after face, recorded away in furious scribbling, frantic words scratched out during bus rides and mrt rides, in an attempt to record these 'readings'.
it never occurred to her though, why she would need all these 'readings', nor did she think about these things. this 'face-reading' business, which consumed her every thought when she first began it a boring morning four years ago, was now a habit she could not kick, not that she ever tried getting rid of it.
the little black book on her lap, she chewed absentmindedly on her pen, a piece of stolen office stationery, the evidence of the most illegal act committed in her thirty years of life. she looked around at the numeruos faces, her world silent amid the caocophony. in a middle of that busy bus stop, she had around her a silence, enveloping her in an invisible shroud of detachment. in her silent vortex, the sounds these faces make were a slight buzz in the background, she could watch their faces, a soundless movie playing non-stop, and so she wrote on, never faltering, 'readings' flowing through her mind in torrents, hurled against the lined pages of the little black book. And strange as it might seem, the people in the busstop never noticed the girl scribbling in the little black book; if they only knew, what went into that little black book. often this would be the case, she was left alone by those around her, but this night, it would be different.
' what are you writing? are you writing a storybook?' a boy of ten years, small for his age, mousey-looking, and had a habit of twitching nervously appeared beside her, peering over her arm, trying his best to read what she had written. shocked at first at this sudden contact, she reacted by shielding the little black book from he view. she shrank away from him, unsure of how to react, her invisible shroud of silence giving a little at the edges, and stray noise trinkled in.
' are you writing a storybook? are you a writer?' he pressed on relentlessly. she could only shake her head dumbly, imperceptibly sliding away from him. his mother pulled him away, stray noise trinkling in. ' don't disturb that lady!'
thrown off balance, she opened the little black book, and her scribblings jumped out at her. ' the man, he is sad. he must be lonely, i do not see a ring on his left hand...''this woman, she is beautiful, when she smiles and talk others are drawn to her. a social butterfly, yet so very much alone'...'this old man, his eyes tell his tale. he is abandoned by his children, and he is alone.'...she closed her eyes against the scrawling, trying to block the assailing words.
and it's my life.
no stress, no fights
i'm leaving it all behind.
no tears, no time to cry
i'm making the most of life.

i am sitting here, feeling rather proud of myself, having completed most of the overseas trademark files, and just resting a while before i head for a swim with the girls at our very own suntec swimming pool.
what is this suspended, monotonous feeling? it is like walking on treadmill. you're just walking, there are no slopes, there are no ridges, there is nothing to stumble upon or for you to stumble on, you are just walking on and on and on, propelled by nothing except for the very fact that you are alive and you happen to be living. i do not know what i am walking towards really, everyone knows there's no end to walking on a treadmill, you cannot accelerate, nor can you deccelerate, you are living, but you are a machine, controlled in speed, and controlled in calories (something i could never achieve in reality). my life has been pretty much like a walk on treadmill, ever since i finished the university admissions.
i should cure this unconscious habit of analysing myself like an exam lit text.
just back from swimming at the suntec it's quite nice a pool:)only those with the membership pass can swim there!so there! aha it's so convenient i'm swimming there every day!

the best place in the world to executive-watch, is the suntec city food court, you'd enter from suntec tower two and it spans all the way to suntec tower four. go there during mondays to fridays during lunch time, that is when the time is extrememly right, burtsing with lunch-hour executives, in all shapes and sizes, in all styles too, all gathered together for their lunch hour feast, or rabbit nibble, for those on diets. you are overwhelmed by the enormity of that food court, it takes more than tem minutes to walk from one end to the other, one entrance to the other, mainly because you spend half the time weaving and navigating a safe route around execuitves with their hot bowls of laksa, fish slice noodle soup, and a whole cacophony of other local, aisan and western delights. there are almost always no seats, though one must say you do not have to wait long for your turn. there are long queues, but only at certain stalls where the food is supposedly "good". it is a loud, noisy, (oh wait they mean the same thing haha) smelly (do not wear your sweater or jacket or anything remotely delicate or long sleeved into that place, you'd return to the office stinking of the infamous "foodcourt smell"), oily, crowded, dangerous (spilled food and all that accidents), not to mention a rather hectic place when all you want is a nice quiet lunch.
and you're thinking now, why, just why the hell would someone like me who has that many complains frequent the food court? well what eles?! to EXECUTIVE-WATCH!
as sick and disturbed this may sound to any normal being out there, one fascination i have with the foodcourt is this: everytime i am there, i always, and i stress this, always am privy to unsightly underwear flashes from exceutive girls/women. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST SIT PROPERLY???executives with high slits up their black professional skirts are those who tend to provide insightful glimpses of their underwear, or worse, lack of a decent one. young executives, more casual in peasant skirts, flouncy silly ruffles of a skirt, in all colours and patterns offers glimpses of their underwear too. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST SIT PROPERLY???try eating your fish slice noodle soup with gusto, slurping down your fish slice noodle soup with all this stuupid women flashing their underwear left, right, and centre at you! how can i not be fascinated?this happens every single time i am there, and
trust me i am there
alot!do these girls do it on purpose, in some sick sucbcnscious way to grab the attention of that cute saavy frenchman who works upstairs in the MNC and has a BMW key hanging out of his pocket?i tell you deep down inside i bet we all harbour the dreams of a Sarong Party Girl.
flashing aside, there are some really goodlooking people at the foodcourt, who flaunt thier latest gucci and louis vuitton and fendi bags, with their perfect colour coordinated work outfits, fashionable and utterly working-girl chic, who strut and sashay(depending on the outfit of the day: power business suit or the feminine frilled blouse and pencil skirt)down the foodcourt, only to line at the economical rice stall with the rest of the flock. still, these are some good-looking people, who usually make executive-watching worhwhile, never mind the nagging suspicion their branded apparel might be fakes.
girls aside, i have to hand it to the men. there are a few good-looking ones sprinkled around, though usually lunching with a protective territorial female but thankfully there are little fashion disasters and hardly any flashing from the men, mainly due to the reason that working clothes for men are boring: long sleeved shirts and pants. there were some memorable instances though; once a large pink-clothed thing strangled with an outrageously flamboyant lime green tie crossed my path, and i reared back in fascination at this absurdly clad male individual ambling down the foodcourt aisle in search of food. he was blessedly unaware of his atrocious dress sense, though how anyone could wear that colour combination i do not know.
like i said before, the best place in suntec city to executive-watch, is the food court, though do so at the risk of being labelled "foodcourt-smelly" and losing your appetite at the unsightly lack of decency, or choking on your food at shocking displays of twisted dress sense.
and guys, DO NOT eat there after reading this just so you could watch some girl flash okaayyyy. it's indecent and immoral and disgusting!
disclaimer: i DO NOT enjoy flashes!they just always happen to uncross their legs or shift their knees when i look up OK! and it is SICK and DISTURBING, so girls! SIT PROPERLY.

look out world! i woke up this morning and rolled out of depression dungeon straight into normality.
there is nothing like an exhausting weekend to perk you up on a monday morning. i haven't been sleeping well the past week, and in an effort to keep disturbing dreams at bay, i literally ground myself to exhaustion over the weekend, and was rewarded with a blissful knock out, oh so recharging dead to the world sleep last night.
the warrick unconditional offer for law made me mourn my financial limitations once more, but not for long this time; i am now sure of what i really want, not hanging in the moment suspended between waiting for replies and making decisions anymore.
casino or no casino? the casino debate is everywhere. it plauges the straits times cover to cover, from headline news to the review. this minister said this, this minister said that, MM lee warns this, SM goh contributes that and the list goes on. what does not hit the papers, aside for a paltry handful of reviews in the (what else)
review section of the straits times, are articles on the peoples' opinion. i would love to see a whole page devoted to an article with the rather catchy, i must say, headline: "SG Minli warns S'poreans...." (SG = Singapore Girl). i would then advise us singaporean: look beyond this senseless debate over the casino! the government has made the decision; you really think any fuss we kick up would make a difference? nothing short of a Cultural Revolution stint would sway the government. maybe if we all sat in the padang and starve, sporting ' anti-casino' headbands and arm bands, the government might be prodded into some response. and no, they would still give casino builders the go-ahead, after they send in the SAF, tearbomb us or smoke us out of the padang. either way, only one thing would come out of it: singapore might make headline news all over the worlds' newpapers for the one, and definitely, only time in history and the future to come!
it's past three now, MM lee...wait i meant PM lee, too many lees in high powerful positions, one really does tend to assume they're all MM lee...has officially released the results. not like any singaporean with a shred of intellect would care; we all know they've already given the go-ahead, and all this senseless debate is merely a teething ring, something for us to gnaw on, so when the decision is finally officially released, nobody has teeth itchy enough for outright anarchy.
okie sudden gush of work.

i do not need them, i really don't. there's nothing here worth staying for anyway.
look, i do your work and let you get credit for it. i do menial tasks while helping you complete everything on time. i do not care so much about you getting the credit for "handling so much work and getting it done on time" when you have had help. i do not care that no one knows except me and you. what i do care is that you do not even grant me that little appreciation for doing the dirty work, instead you seem to bar, no, not bar, just...exclude me from......office activities. i do not think that hardly fair. i do not have to do your work and yet feel i am so excluded, so out of place, so unwelcome. you may not mean to make me feel that way but you all do anyway and i have had enough. i need to go and i have to go fast, because the longer i stay, the worst it gets.
this place is filled with more fakes than silicon breast implants. the only exception is him; i'd take brutal honesty anyday over superficiality.

what is there to know about minli?
she gripes alot, she is constantly depressed and angsty about something, anything;
infact, there is not a single moment when she might be feeling remotely at peace with the world or herself.
when with her, one gets the sense that she is living a tragedy, though it is not sure whether her life is one or whether she herself is one.
within a few months of acquaintance, one understands that people like her will never get out of the vicious cycle of self pity and self denial, trapped forever in throes of melancholy, alternating between "sunny" disposition and bleak depression.
what is there to know about minli?
she loves her friends, and would like to think she is absolutely loyal.she loves to have fun, and is extremely sensitive, most times a bad thing, some times a good thing, and the sometimes really do count. she loves her family (anyone who adores her family cannot possibly be bad right?) she is energetic, and driven when she feels like she wants something. she is predictable in all her depression and mood swings (to those who know her i guess). she does not hide anything, nor does she tolerate hypocrisy.
what is there to know about minli?
just thought i'd write myself a "friendster" testimonial. feel free to dispute any statements i made.
disclaimer: i do not really know myself well.

the flea market by underground movement was a blast, what can i say?greeted with freeflow lemon coke light upon arrival on a hot hot day won me over totally; i was gushing about the whole event as soon as the drink was thrust into my hand. yes, it was hot, it was crowded and messy and no credit cards accepted and all that, but it was a blast, really! i arrived there around three; three hours later and fifty dollars lighter i was happily clutching my purchases to me,and very very very satisfied with minli yours truly.
- a pair of substance black killer heels
- ozoc cream coloured cashmere sweater
- electric blue vintage baseball tee shirt
- pretty pretty vintage blouse with pearl buttons
- topshop 'angel' g string!
- polka dotted lace topshop g string!
- black swirly fold-down skirt
- fcuk orange baby tee shirt / blouse
- sylvia plath's johnny panic and the bible of dreams
not a bad haul i'd say, with all the drama going on between him and i, how i had to push out of the crowd a few times just to yell on the phone without deafening the people around me. well, what can i say?my only break in days sullied like that. never mind, not too bad for fifty dollars i guess.
